Wife: Catherine, land which I now live on and 50 acres adjoining for life, then to be equally divided between "George, Moses and John Simpson." Son: William (and Bodeham Simpson) that tract of land whereon my son William Simpson now lives to them and their heirs... Rest of personal estate to wife. Executors: Sons George and John. Wits: Charles Thrift, Thomas Athey, Francis Stone /s/ John Simpson From Mary Gregg: "Bodeham Simpson's name really was Rhodam (var. sp.) but it looks like Bodeham in the will book.

(Fairfax Co., Va., WB O:103) December 20, 1813. Estate of John Simpson dec'd. by Georgia [sic] Simpson, Executor [I doublechecked that this name was Georgia. It was very clear and it definitely was Georgia, though I strongly believe it should read "George." mg] Buyers included Georgia Simpson, Moses Simpson, Reason Haislett, William Ogden, Edwd. W. Simpson, John M. Simpson, Lewis Suddith, William Simpson, James Tillet, Joseph Simpson, and others. Amount: $259.8. Returned to Court on December 19, 1825. [sic mg]

On the next page is the sale of George [sic] Simpson dated January 1, 1822. Buyers: Elizabeth Simpson (chief buyer), John Keith, Moses Simpson, Henry Halley, Edw. W. Thompson, Silas Simpson, Oliver Keene, and others.

Apr 6, 1756 from Richard Davis, planter, to John Simpson, schoolmaster, both of CC, for 1700 lbs of tobacco and for divers good causes, 50 acres of that tract of land called Bretts Beginning, lying in CC, to be laid off for sd Sympson by sd Davis, on that end of the afd land whereon sd Sympson now dwells. Signed - Richard Davis. Wit - Thos Stone, Willm Eilbeck. Elizabeth, the wife of the sd Richard Davis, relinquished her right of dower to the lands within mentioned. Recorded Apr 18, 1756.
