John and his brother both moved to Ohio before 1810. It’s possible they settled in an area of Highland County that became Clinton Co in 1810, as the marriage record calls him “John Shockley of Clinton County.” They were both married in Highland County and appear in the 1820 census on the same page. In 1830, Benjamin is gone and his widow Leah appears.

John’s will is listed on p. 23 of Wills, Administrations, Guardianships & Adoptions, Highland Co, OH 1805-1880. Lists wife Hannah as insane, and two sons, 9 daughters. Dated June 29 1837, proven Apr 16, 1838.
