If the Shearer pattern of land transferrance holds, John Shearer(or possibly one of his sons) is likely the final tenant of High Flat Farm. On the premise that the information on his father is accurate, John likely assumed control of Highflat farm in the 1940's or early 1950's. It is presumed that he died young and that the farm was given up sometime shortly after his death.
