- Know all men by these presents that We John Sharp & George Dooley are held & firmly bound unto John Page Esqr. Governor or chief Magistrate of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the Sum of One Hundred and fifty Dollars to the true payment of which to the said Governor or to his Successors for the use of the Common Wealth aforesaid We bind ourselves & each of us, our and each of our Heirs Exors. & Admrs. Jointly & Severally firmly by these presents sealed with our Seals and Dated this 31 day of Jany 1804.
- The Condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas there is a Marriage shortly intended to be had & Solemnized between the above bound John Sharp & Patsey Dooley. Now if there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the said Marriage then the above Obligation to be void else to remain in full force & Virtue
