The death record for John Sever says he died 7 November 1803 of jaundice, dropsy, etc, age 37 (h. Nancy [Russell]) (Kingston (Massachusetts) Vital Records to 1850).

A death notice was published in the Columbian Centinel newspaper of Boston, dated 19 November 1803. It reads: "Sever, John, merchant, d. in Kingston, aged 38."
