- Hardy Co. Wills 1:129, John See, estate appraisal (6 Aug 1795, recorded 13 Apr 1796); 1:163 account (14 May 1799, recorded May 1799); and 1:247 sale (7 Aug 1795, recorded 9 Feb. 1803).
- John left two minor children, George, born 1791, and Elizabeth, born 1794. In July 1805 the County Court appointed John Craigen, husband of John's sister, Mary Ann See, as Elizabeth's guardian and in September of that year George chose his grandfather, George See, as his guardian.

- John See's widow, Catharine, married William Crook on 22 September 1801.
