- Runyan, John - born 11/26/1756 in Morris County, New Jersey, where he entered service 1776 in New Jersey Company; moved before the end of Revolutionary War to Morristown, New Jersey, thence abt. 1785 to Morgantown, Virginia, for 15 years, thence to Champaign County, Ohio, resided in Union Township, when granted Pension in 1832; died 9/14/1838; married 2/19/1778 to Mary/Polly who was born 8/10/1758; widow granted Pension 1839 in Champaign County, Ohio; children's births: Betsey 1/17/1779, Stephen 10/21/1780, Debby 1/15/1783, Richard 2/2/1785, Jenny 5/25/1787, Sally 8/30/1789, Anne 3/4/1791, Polly 2/19/1795, Rosannah 9/13/1797, Peggy 9/26/1799, Elias 4/25/1802 & Lydia 8/7/1804; query letter in file states soldier married Polly Conklin & he was buried in Buck Creek Cemetery, Champaign County, Ohio; query letter in file 1932 from descendant Ruth Joyce Bell, Crawford, New Jersey; query letter in file states soldier died Champaign County, Ohio.
