  13. ↑ The baptism entry for John has to be faulty memory recorded some years after his birth, he is unlikely to have been born between Andrew and George, whose baptisms are neighbouring entires in an 1822 register, and cannot be born in May 1821 as well as George being born Aug 1821, so the assumption here is that the 19 May is accurate but the year is 1823 to fit other sources.
    Entry, written in a page headed Parish of Foulden 1833 (sic): "John lawful son of John RUNCIMAN and Janet INGLES was born May 19th and baptized May 24th 1821 by the Revd Mr Ure Burgher Minister Ayton before these witnesses Alexander Haliday and Margaret Scott"
