John Robinson was born about 1716 [1720] in probably Henrico County, Virginia. He was the son of John Robertson and Tabitha Jones .[1]
John married Anna Bradshaw about the year 1741. This date is estimated from the deed of William Bradshaw to John Robinson of 14 April 1741, "I William Bradshew for the good will that I bear to John Robenson am indebted unto him and have given, granted, and sold two hundred acres of land lying on the north fork of Deep Creek beginning at Samuel Nichols line and John Robinsons." Witnessed: John Hobson, Daniel Markham, Thomas Robinson. Recorded 20 April, 1741.[2]
In July of 1743, John Robinson and his father John Roberson Sr. along with Christopher Robinson witnessed a deed of sale for William Tabor of St. James Parish, who was selling 330 acres of land for L60 to William Bradshaw. The land was adjoining John Hobson, Wm. Bradshaw, Matthew Marks and crossed Deep Creek.[3]
In 1746 Field Robertson of Goochland County, Parish of Southam, sold his 200 acres (land from his father) to his brother John Robertson of the same county and Parish for L50. This land was on the south side of the James River and on the north side of Deep Creek, bordering the land of Christopher Robertson, Stephen Hughes, and William Easlies. The deed reads, "Field Robinson to John Robinson Field Bradsher, and George Sparkworth." Signed Field Robinson. Recorded 16 June 1746. [4]
John and Anna were the parents of four daughters, Lucy Burton, Judith Richardson, Tabitha Jones, and Jemima Sanderson. [5] John's actual date of death and place of burial are unknown.
