Sir John Riddell of Riddell, 3rd Bt. is the son of Sir Walter Riddell of Riddell, 2nd Bt. and Jane Rigg.2 He married Margaret Swinton, daughter of Sir John Swinton, 23rd of that Ilk and Lady Margaret Stewart.1 He married Agnes Scott, daughter of Gideon Scott of Harden, in December 1659.1 He married Helen Morrison, daughter of Sir Alexander Morrison, in 1661.
He gained the title of 3rd Baronet Riddell.2
