John Richey - Newspaper Article Notice of Death - Tipton Daily Tribune 7-20-1914 FOUND DEAD IN BED John Richey, Aged Sixty-Four, Expires at home, Near Rock Prairie. John Richey, aged sixty-four years and living a mile southeast of the Rock Prairie church, northeast of Tipton, was found dead in his bed at his home this morning at 5 o'clock, it being supposed that his death was due to heart trouble. The discovery of his death was made by his wife. So far as known Mr. Richey had been in his accustomed health and there were no indications of any illness on his part. Sunday the family were at the home of a son, William Richey, in that neighborhood and spent the day there. Last night members of the family attended services at the Dunkard church, but Mr. Richey remained at home and retired at his usual hour. Mr. Richey was a native of this county and had lived all his life in the section of the country where he died. his father was Chris Richey. The deceased had been twice married, his first wife being Miss Tracy and two children were born to the union, one being dead, and the other, Mrs. John Tinder, living on the Hawkins farm, near Sharpsville. His second marriage was to Amanda Garner and five boys and two girls were born to them, those living being Frank, Noah, William, Loyd, Raymond and Carl Richey, Mrs. Della Wooten and Mrs. Margaret Hewitt. All children reside in this county, three of the younger children being at home. Mr. Richey was a member of the Baptist church, having identified himself with that church a number of years ago. He was a man noted for his industry and was an appreciated neighbor. The funeral arrangements are not known.
