There was a book written by Sue Puckett Payton in 1955 that states that John Puckett may have come from Dorset, England. The book states that a search of English records in London and the County, of Dorset as well as church records had been searched and the Puckett family did come from England. According to the research done by Sue, the Pucketts are mentioned in detail in the files of the Society of genealogists,Chaucer House, Mallet Place, WC London, and in the Dorset records preserved on the Hose of lords and designated THE PROTESTATION RETURNS 1641-42.
