Stoke, bu. 27th Feb., 1618, being then called the elder; son of ___ Powell who was probably a son of Morgan Powell, of Taunton {viv. 16th cent.), who was a descendant of Einion Efell, Lord of Cynllaeth (ob. 1196) through the latter's descendant Howell the son of Griffith of Aberbanah, in Shropshire on the Welsh border.
