  2. "Pierce, Lexington, Mass., and Windhester,N.H.", by Ralph M. Stoughton, TAG, Vol. 31, p. 57, notes that Winchester church records shows the following admissions:
John and Rachel Peirce, Feb. 13, 1737.
John and Bathsheba Peirce, Apr. 6, 1746,
[also John Jr.'s siblings Anthony and Lucy.]
This is used to conclude that the son of John and Rachel, b. Lexington 1722, moved to Winchester, NH.

    Hence, various secondary sources(such as
Source:Pierce, Frederick Clifton. Peirce Genealogy : Being the Record of the Posterity of John Pers, an Early Inhabitant of Watertown, in New England, Who, p. 46
Source:Pierce, Harvey Cushman. Seven Pierce Families, p. 111
Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, from Its First Settlement to 1868, p. 534)
and probably others) are incorrect in showing this John m. Hannah and residing in Shirley, Mass.

Instead, as given in Source:Chandler, Seth. History of the Town of Shirley, Massachusetts, p. 604, it was the son of Daniel and Eleanor Pierce, b. Groton 1720, that married Hannah and lived in Shirley.
