Peirce Genealogy : Being the Record of the Posterity of John Pers, an Early Inhabitant of Watertown, in New England, Who, p. 36, indicates this child was named Daniel, and married Ellenor Boyton. There was a Daniel in this family, and no birth record is found for him, but as there is not marriage date for the parents, and no probate for the father, there is no reason why Daniel couldn't simply be an older child, as suggested by the fact that he was given land in 1714 (born by 1693 to be of legal age). Thus there is no reason to think the record is not correct.

No further information about John has been found. Bond points out that the origins of John Pierce of Lunenburg are unknown. However, he is not mentioned in the list of heirs of Samuel Woods NEHGR, Vol. 61, p. 396, in 1718. However, he may have been under age and his mother may have been his guardian (though no documentation of this has been found). Quick searching suggests the grandfather gave significant land to the the brother Daniel, but no provision for John has been located (see similar comments for his brother Isaac, perhaps similarly he was taken in by an aunt and uncle who was expected to provide for him).
