He emigratned to America on the ship "Francis and Elizabeth" which landed at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 21, 1742. He died sometime around the years 1780-1781 in Frederick Co., Virginia. His wife, Catherine Kohler was born in the same time period the 1725-1730 in Germantown, Pennsylvania? She was living in 1783 in Shenandoah Co., Virginia and died in 1810, probably in Hawkins Co. Tennessee?
General Notes: "Johann Henrich Bengel,
Evanelisch “Protestant” on 27 June 1747 married Catharine Koehler in the Reformed Lutheran German Church in Germantown, near Philadelphia in the Minister's residence in the presence of two witnesses" Reference: St. Michael's and Zion Lutheran Church records, Pennsylvania Germany Society records, Vol. I, page 585. Johann Henrich Bengel anglicized his name to read “John Henry Pangle”
It is supposed that Johann Henrich Bengel lived in the Germantown, Pennsylvania for awhile and soon after relocated himself and family to the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia where he remained until his death about the year 1780-1782. His widow, Catherine Pangle, records show she was listed in the 1783 census for Shenandoah Co., Virginia with four dependents.
