Gender Male
Birth? 21 Sep 1666 Braintree, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United States
Marriage 20 Jan 1688/89 Braintree, Norfolk, Massachusetts, United Statesto Deborah Neale
Death? Feb 1755 Lebanon, New London, Connecticut, United States

John and Deborah were admitted to full communion 20 November 1698. He was elected surveyor of highways in 1703. Sprague says that on 21 January 1706/1707 they sold the homestead in Braintree MA and removed to Lebanon, CT; John and Deborah Payne were admitted to the church at Lebanon on 23 November 1712, and John died at Lebanon in February 1755. The Bass genealogy, however, says he died in 1706, and that is the death date that Torrey uses. The Bass genealogy also shows that he had a son John who died in 1706, and there may be a confusion of father and son in some of the accounts.
