John is named in his brother William Outridge's will of 1766. He is named as the father of another William Outridge, but was not named as inheriting anything himself, suggesting that he may have already died before 1766. One possibility is that his son William was the William Outridge who married Eliza Maria Griffin in 1741. Whilst no baptism has been found, Ickleford's registers before 1749 are known to be deficient; only the Bishop's Transcripts survived before 1749, which have patchy coverage. In particular there is no transcript for 1718, 1719 or 1720, covering most of the period of John's marriage to Joanna Marshall; they married in 1718 and she died in 1721/2.
