Earliest record of him in New England is his marriage 20 Mar 1720/1 He is closely associated with John Priest, John Warner and Jonathan Houghton; He Witnessed the will of John Warner; He spelled his name "Nickols"
In 1740 sold his Harvard estate to Jonathan Houghton (of Bolton) and removed to Fort Pond in Lancaster History of the town of Harvard, Ma p 92 There are many connections to the Houghton Family. His son Daniel married first to a Mary Houghton of Bolton.
