JOHN EDWARD NAVARRE
John Edward Navarre, 55, 536 N.E. Edgewood Drive died Tuesday, Dec. 25 at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Navarre was an auditor for the United States General Accounting Office since 1962.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1929, in Topeka, the son of Joe C. and Helen M. Cox Navarre.
Except for service in the U.S. Air Force in 1948-49. Mr. Navarre spent his life in Topeka. He was graduated from Topeka High School and in 1962 graduated cum laude from Washburn University with a degree in Business Administration.
He was a former employee of the Topeka Supply Depot.
He was married to Ann L. Magnuson May 20, 1967, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother Helen M. Navarre, 118 Holman, and a sister Mrs. Peggy L. Smiley, 5536 sw 25th Terr.
Services will be at 1:30 pm Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Navarre will lie in state after 2 pm today at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7-8:30 pm today. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice, Inc., 1522 w. 8th, 66606 or to the American Cancer Society, 3003 Van buren, 66611.
