Mary Yuille married John MURDOCH (chr 1707), son of James MURDOCH (b. 1672) and Elizabeth WINGATE (K. Smith). James Murdoch, Glasgow merchant, was b. abt 1672 and admitted burgess and gild brother as eldest son to John Murdoch, merchant, B and GB, 9jan1707; James’ will was reg. 1754 (Old Glasgow Exhibition, notes and indexes, 1894). John Murdoch, Glasgow merchant, was b. 1705, made burgess and gild brother as eldest lawful son to James Murdoch, merchant, B and GB, 7may1734. He was designated senr to distinguish him from John Murdoch of Rosebank (Old Glasgow Exhibition, notes and indexes, 1894). John Murdoch was buried 30jan1764, Glasgow (W. Griffith). John Murdoch was uncle of Margaret MURDOCH (b. 6apr1741, d. 4jun1805), who married 11aug1760 George YUILLE of Darleith (Old Glasgow Exhibition, notes and indexes, 1894, Provosts of Glasgow, 1942).
