... John and Ollie sold 200 acres in Burke County, North Carolina, that Ollie had inherited, to James Bailey in 1819.

The couple then moved to eastern Kentucky by 1820.

After 1823, they returned to North Carolina, where they remained until about 1829-1830.

They then moved to Holly Creek, which today is in Dickenson County, Virginia. He arrived with his sons, David and Isaac and his daughter Mary. He supposedly left his children here in this area and went back to North Carolina to bring back the rest of the family,
    belongings and livestock.

John owned several thousand acres in the county.

John and Ollie are buried on a slope about 300 yards west of the courthouse, behind the Baptist Church in Clintwood, Virginia.

His father [Revolutionary] John Mullins Sr. is buried several hundred yards south of this location at the foot of Sunset Hill.

(Note: At this time the area was still Russell County, VA)
