From Amelia Moyer Manuscript:

John Mathias Moyer, my grandfather on Father's side lived near the Big [Dutch] Buffalo Creek in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, near St. John's [Lutheran] Church. He was buried there. I do not know when nor where he was born. He married Mary Boon, a relative of Daniel Boon, the Great Pioneer. Daniel Boon lived on the Yadkin River. '[Note: the Boon family that Mary Boon, John Moyer's wife, comes from appears to be of German origin, but Daniel Boone's family was clearly from England. Appears to be "family tradition" that Mary was a relative of Daniel Boone].
