Facts and Events
[edit] Notes“Rather successful planter in Putnam County” Deed of gift of 475 acres from Giles Thompkins to John E. Morrow in Putnam County, GA, dated Oct. 21, 1826. Bond issued to Peter G. Morrow (brother) 7 Oct 1829 for estate, for what appears to be $12,000. Image 256 of will record on Ancestry Inventory [415] shows sales from estate in the first year (through Dec 1830) of $4000, largely land and livestock. Note in Jan 1832: Rec’d $239.11, which was due for my part of my legacy from the estate of Ewing Morrow Dec’d - James M. Morrow. [250] Assorted entries indicate care for son Ewing, including board with Giles Hopkins (grandfather); it appears the estate was open for so long because he was under age. But one of the last entries (in time) is for a coffin for E.T. Morrow who died 22 Jan 1845. Ewing's estate record in turn distributes his estate to his first cousins, confirming that John E., Peter G., and James M. are all sons of Ewing. References
