    'MERRICK (Morrick).
    John, had a grant of land in Hing. 1637, and d. 2 July, 1647, leaving, says Mr. Savage, a s. John, and prob. wid. Elizabeth, who d. at Roxbury, "25, 6, 1650." '

    Savage appears to be in error about the son John. The will mentions his sister's children John and Anne Scathe, but no children of his own.

    The will of "John Merricke, of Hingham", dated 24 June, 1647, mentions his wife Elisebeth, a sister Elisebeth Hilleard/Hiller, his sister's children John and Anne Scathe, a niece Elisebeth Merrick, and John and Anne Fisher, but no children of his own.
