John Frank Melchi, 62, died at his home, 320 Sheldon street, Thursday night. The body will be shipped to Re Var [sic, Rivare], Indiana, at 8:00 Saturday morning and burial will be held in that city.
A wife, Mrs. Laura Melchi, survives, as do also three sons, Robert, Doster, and Arvine, and two daughters, Mrs. Ann Kekcler ? { Keckler } and Mrs. Alma Casteel, all of Kalamazoo. There are five grandchildren. Four brothers, William of Sturgis, Albert of Convoy, Indiana, Charles of Ceder Spring, Michigan, and Seth {Sephus} of Decatur, Indiana, and four sisters, Mrs. Jane Thomas of Decatur, Indiana, Mrs. Sarah Trimble of Hammond, Indiana, Mrs. Alice Hilton of Convoy, Indiana, and Mrs. Emma Heath of Jackson, Michigan survive.
