    - John Meador, son of Ambrose, stated in 1671 (as witness to will of Robert Payne) that he was 38, giving him an estimated birth date of 1633. He was not listed listed with his parents in their headlight grant, so would have been born after they arrived in Virginia.
    - John married twice, first to Joanne (or Jane) Coombes, sister of Abraham Coombes. They had two children. On 11 September 1668, Abraham Coombes gave a calf to John Meador Jr. (son of John and Joanne). On 16 October 1683, both John Meador and his son John were deceased, and Abraham decreed that the calf (no two cows and two calves) should go to Mary Meador, only sister of John Jr.
    - about 1672, John married a woman named Susannah
    - John inherited 400 (or 420) acres of land from his father Ambrose, which he traded in 1663 to Robert Tomlin for 500 acres near Peumansend Creek in Sittenbourne Parish in what is now Caroline County [then Old Rappahannock County]. This land was inherited by his son Thomas
    - 22 April 1670 - received a grant of 625 acres for transporting 13 people, which he sold
    - 17 April 1667 - received a grant of 4200 acres on Penumansend Creek in present Caroline County, shared with Henry Peters (suggesting he was a "favourite" of Governor Berkeley)
    - John Meador, son of Ambrose, died about 1683, leaving a will, which has not survived. He made a bequest of land to Mary Benby, wife of John Walker (relationship unknown), and the remaining land to his son Thomas
