in "a", by Charles Bolton, please read page 187, in which he reports that John McFArland was loaned money for his passage by the Rev Haliday, Minister at Ardstraw, Tyrone...further said loan document was witnessed by the (famous) Capt Robert Temple. Based on this loan, Bolton makes a link between Daniel McFarland of Worcester, and John McFarland of Boothbay as "may have been a brother".

Autosomal DNA testing has proved a link between John McFarland of Boothbay Maine and Daniel McFarland died Worcester Mass in 1738, this does to clarify what relationship however. John McFarland, from Ulster, and Daniel McFarland are but two of 8 DNA connected lines in the US ( Y-DNA of these lines run R-L1335, R-L1065, R-S744 and R-S764, R-FGC28985), Earl Macfarland ([email protected])
