Notes from Tony Popp on John McGlasson: John, son of William, Jr. , was born in Buckingham Co, Virginia. He attended the Tillotson Parish Anglican Church there. He was in the infantry during the American Revolutionary War. He was drafted in 1780 and served 18 months in Colonel Bedford's regiment in the Virginia infantry. About 1810, he and his family moved to some land in Campbell County, Kentucky. They lived near the mouth of Dry Run Creek, which is currently in Kenton county, near Crestview Hills, Kentucky. John was a farmer. John's daughter, Rhoda, and his son, James moved to Grant County, Kentucky after they married. After John died, his wife, Nancy, moved there after receiving her husband's war pension and died there. John's daughter, Judith, moved to Livingston County with her husband and died there young.
