The McCormack family may have originated from Co. Longford in Northern Ireland. A burial record in Neston, Cheshire lists a John Gormack who was buried in 1747, having apparently died in Co. Longford.

John McCormack and Anne - Thomas McCormack, chr. 10 Sep 1727 in Chester --- m. Anne Sellers 02 May 1757 at St. Mary in Chester - Mary McCormack, bur. 31 Jul 1745 at St. John's in Chester

I'm not sure why there's no baptismal record for Mary McCormack or this John McCormack in Chester, but it's possible they were christened elsewhere outside of Cheshire, converted to Protestantism or were baptized in Ireland. Unfortunately, the parish registers for Cheshire are not enough to answer these questions.
