    John McCorkle and Isabella Montgomery eloped and were married against her parents wishes. Soon after, they and two of John's brothers Archibald and William immigrated to the American Colonies- went first to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-
    then settled in the Trumball/Mahoning County area of Ohio-
    purchasing farmland.

    John McCorkle Sr. died 1833 in Youngstown, *Trumbull County, Ohio, USA. The Cemetery is marked down as Old Ross Cemetery. *Youngstown became Mahoning County in 1846.
