In 1810, John McCalley is listed in Washington Co., KY in a household with two adults: one male 45 and up, one female 26-45, three male children (2 between 10 and 16, one less than 10) and two female children less than 10; no slaves are listed. In 1820, he is in Washington Co., KY with one male and one female over 45, one male between 16 and 26, one female between 16 and 26, one male between 10 and 16, and two males and two females under 10. Two are listed under agriculture. In his will, he leaves his beloved wife Anastatia his entire estate for her life, then on her death divided among his children, except that James and William were to have $50 less than the others "in consideration of what I have to fore given them."
