    Youngest son of Col. James Martin, and a nephew of Alexander Martin. Born at Martin's Lime Kiln, from which he moved in 1874 and located to Winston. His wife survived him, and was a daughter of the late John W. Thomas of Thomasville. His only child was Col. James Martin, also of Winston.
