In Mrs. Hayden's unpublished notes, before referred to, the following statement occurs regarding the family of Judge George Leech, then living at Vincennes, and particularly of his eldest daughter Sallie, who soon became young White's wife. Mrs. Hayden's statement is substantiall a repetition of the artless recital of her mother, formerly Miss Amy Leech, a sister of Sallie, and the wife of Hon. John Marshall, for many years the president of the Bank of Illinois at Shawnee Town.
