Added comment: the first unnamed son is likely to have died young given the short interval between births. Various child are said to be living in 1691 and there is reference in some deeds to a division of the estate (Essex Vol. 10, folio 15, Blanford to Coffin), which is presumed to be the significance of the 1691 date. However the division is not in the probate file, nor has it been located in the deed index. Possibly the order named in the division (i.e., was John before or after Shubael) could give some clue about how reasonable Hoyt's pairing of John with this date is?]
