John H. Livers "Jack"

John Hout Livers, "Jack," "Jun ior," "Toot-toot," "Elway," "JR," 79, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 24, 2003, after a long, enduring, and courageous battle with cancer.

Jack was born, Feb. 7, 1924, in Akron and resided here for his en tire life. He retired from General Tire and Rubber Co. after completing 41 years of dedicated service.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert S. and Helen (Hout) Livers; sister Margaret "Margie" Kibler; he is survived by two sisters, Josephine Livers, Helen (Dale) Pendleton; brother, Hubert "Bud" (Rita) Livers; his caring daughter, Stephanie Sue (David) Gardner; sons, John M. Livers, Terry (Michelle) Livers; and seven lovely, granddaughters, Elissa (Ralph) McGrady, Crystal, Erika, Jenna, Michelle, Jessica, Emilee Livers; and brother-in-law, Larry Kibler; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jack loved collectibles, mostly stamps, postal covers, and base ball cards. He enjoyed sports, play ing both golf, and softball, over the years. Naturally, golf was by far his favorite sport. Jack was an avid, as well as an adept golfer. He accumulated dozens of trophies, plaques and won golf league championships. Yet he took pride in only one feat, the hole-in-one, he made in South Carolina many years ago.

He was a friend to all, and the enemy of none. Jack never spoke a harsh word to anyone. As he was a gentle, free and easy spirit, with a sense of humor beyond belief. He was also generous, considerate, and kind to anyone in need of help, even to strangers. He will be remembered by all who had made his acquaintance.

Jack, will be deeply missed by his family, friends and loved ones. However, our shared, and fondest memories of him shall forever be embedded in our hearts. May God Bless him and keep him.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, at Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd. A me morial service will be held immediately after the calling hours.
