- John Blair Linn, was pastor of the First Presbyterian church at Philadelphia. This J.B. Linn gained quite a reputation as a preacher and poet. His principal work was entitled "Valerian", but he was brought to prominence chiefly by his controversy with the celebrated Dr. Joseph Priestly, a Uniterian preacher, and as scientist, discoverer of oxygen. He was born on 2 April 1754 at Lurgan Twp., Franklin Co., PA. He was the son of William Linn and Susanna Trimble. John Blair Linn lived in 1775 at Buffalo Valley, Union Co., PA; Moved to Buffalo Valley in 1775. He married Ann Fleming, daughter of John Fleming and Ann (?), on 7 November 1780. John Blair Linn died on 21 March 1809 at White Deer Twp., Union Co., PA, at age 54.
