John Leach was a farmer at the Head of the Bay. He purchased the eastern part of Lots 85 & 86 from his father in 1808 for $1,000. The farm encompassed 100 acres and was later divided between his daughter Sylvia Clement, his grand-son Uriah Leach, and his grand-daughter Julia Wardwell. The farm began at the Little Marsh Creek, which now runs into the Bay just aft of Hutchins Point, to the line just after Berzinis' Garage. -Mark A. Honey
