Based upon his age, and proximity to other White's in Ludborough, this may be the same John Laughton as the one enumerated in the 1861 census - see Ludborough - RG9/2387, Folio 52, p. 8, CD page 106, famly 37. However, this census shows he was born at Tathwell, not Ludborough as indicated by Dr. Phil White of New Zealand.
