    "John Lane3 (Isaac2, John1), 1681-1716, was b. in Middletown, Ct., 10 Jan., 1680-1, a resident and land proprietor of Middletown. 'At a meeting of the Council in New London, November 11th 1710. Ordered that Richard Christopher Esqr pay out of the colonys money in his hands twenty shillings unto John Lane of Middletown, a soldier in the expedition against Port Royall for his extraordinary care and service in tending sick soldiers on board Capt Moses Mansfield in the briganteen … in their return from said expedition.'—Ct. Col. Rec. He was joint administrator on his father's estate 1712-1716; … and d. 1716."

    Page 9 (Vol. X) 5 March, 1722-3: An order to dist. the sd. estate was granted February, 1720. It now appearing to this Court that 1-2 of the lands and moveables of sd. estate was disposed of by deed of ffeoffees in trust in the lifetime of sd. John Lane, this Court consider that 1-2 of the estate shall be dist., viz., to Ann Lane (alias Bacon) her thirds, and to John Lane, only child.
