I'm researching whether little John W. Krumrine could have been John Wesley Krumrine the son of Henry & Lydia A. Krumrine in the 1850 Monroe Twp., Perry Co., OH census. If anyone has any information to add on this question, please let me know. This family was in Harrison Co., OH in the 1840 census and had moved from Perry Co., OH to farm in the Kickapoo, Vernon County, Wisconsin area by 1870. They dropped the first "r" to go primarily by "Kumrine" in Wisconsin records.

The mother Lydia was listed as "Lydia A. Crumerine" on the 5 Oct. 1881 Kickapoo, Vernon Co., WI marriage record of her daughter Mary Jane Kumrine to Alexander C. Smith b. Indiana, who was a son of Zachariah & Amy Smith. This marriage record had Kumrine spelled as "Crumerine."

Lydia Kumrine is memorial #78476555 and I think Henry Kumrine was memorial 104635591, but Henry didn't die in 1875, as it said on his memorial the last time I checked. Henry was in the 1880 Vernon Co., WI census with the "Crumerine" spelling.

Note that the headstone lists little John's parents as "L.A. & H. Krumrine." Did the stonemason accidentally reverse the usual listing of the initials of his parents?

Inscription: son of L.A. and H. Krumrine
