    Born Kites Mill, Rockingham (later, Page) County, Virginia. Married 1) 11-21-1818, Delilah Armentrout; 2) 4-18-1858, Delila Catherine Taplinger. This 2nd Delila is on the 1860 census with John's last two children. She later moved to Iowa and is buried in Blanchard Cemetery, Page County, Iowa. She is on the 1900 Iowa census with Philoma and her family.
