e-mail from Dale Donald Kinnick, 27 May 1998: "My Great-Grandfather died in 1936, before I was born and although I have been at his gravestone many times, I am ashamed to say that I don't remember his Christian name."
Wiedenhaefer packet, 21 Jul 1998, page 44. (presumably prepared by great-granddaughter, Pauline Lynell Hansen Ozburn). Notes he "had beautifil red hair." and, he and Harriet: "They traveled with their family to Louisburg, [Dallas Co] MO, by covered wagon."
1900 Federal Census finds them in the Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, with the whole family, except for Sarah, who had already married.
1910 census for Mountain Twp, Crawford Co, AR, has: J. W. Kinnick, 56, M1 36, IN, NC, VA, Farmer, Gen Farm, with wife, Harriet S., 55, M1 36 10 9, MO, OH, MO, and dau Bertha, 16, OK, IN, MO, and sons: Everet, 14, OK, IN, MO, and Emmet, 10, OK, IN, MO, along with Atha Dodge, granddaughter, 8, OK, KS, MO
Note that Susan was born in Missouri in 1876, Maud in Iowa in 1880, and the next three boys in Missouri, 1882-1886. Hattie, 1890, and the rest, in Indian Territory.
1930 census has John W, 76, IN, and Hariet, 75, Kinnick at Lancaster, Crawford Co, AR
