    John Alexander Kincaid, 77, R.R.10, Greensburg, died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 1987, in the Decatur County Memorial Hospital. He was born May 20, 1910, in Springhill, the son of Gilbert Gordon and Grace McWilliams Kincaid. He had farmed in the Springhill neighborhood 56 years, and moved to Greensburg Dec. 10, 1986. He was a member of the Springhill Presbyterian Church, and was a trustee and an elder in the church. He married Margaret Tremain Jan. 8, 1930, in Kingston, and she survives; with two daughters: Ruth K. Brown, Greensburg, and Catherine Kincaid, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; one brother, William G. Kincaid, R.R.8, Greensburg; one sister, Mrs. Carlos (Mildred) Hite, Clarksburg; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Kincaid. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, with the Rev. Leland Brett and the Rev. Mike Beck officiating. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

    ... On November 9, 1898, some years after the death of his father, Gilbert Gordon Kincaid married Grace McWilliams, daughter of Ephraim McWilliams. The marriage ceremony was solemnized at Mrs. Kincaid’s grandmother’s home, near Greensburg, the grandmother being Mrs. Sarah Meek. Four children have been born to this marriage, one of whom, the eldest, Mary Helen, died at the age of ten years. Of the others, Helen Mildred, who was born February 9, 1904, is now eleven years old; John Alexander was born on May 20, 1909; William Gordon, Jr. was born on May 18, 1914. ...
