"John (Kimberly), b. (Glastonbury) 2 May 1719; d. at Glastonbury (Eastbury), 26 Apr. 1773 in 54th yr. (g. s.); … He served as Deputy for Glastonbury, May and Oct., 1761, Oct. 1762, May 1763, Oct. 1764, May 1765, Oct. 1766, Jan. and May 1767, May and Oct. 1768, Jan., May and Oct. 1769, May and Oct. 1770, May and Oct. 1771, May and Oct. 1772, and May 1773. Although elected to the last-named session, and his name entered, his death occurred slightly before the Assembly met. He was also Justice of the Peace from 1761 until his death. Administration on his estate was granted, 1 June 1773, to Mary Kimberly, with Samuel Gibson of Glastonbury as surety. The inventory included a large library of classical and legal books. Distribution was made, 21 Oct. 1785, to the widow, Mrs. Mary Kimberly, and the children, Mary wife of Mr. Samuel Gibson, Rhoda wife of Mr. Jonathan Covell, Elizabeth wife of Mr. Isaac Tryon, Miss Prudence Kimberly, Miss Chloe Kimberly, Sarah wife of Mr. Elizur Goodrich, Miss Abigail Kimberly, Miss Ruth Kimberly, and Lucretia wife of Mr. Thomas Hubbard."
