Johnny and Florence Kendrick came from Arkansas to her cousin's in Alvord, TX, and from there Johnny made the run for land to the Indian Territory in Oklahoma. He was not successful, but did make a home at Helsel, OK in a log cabin. The family later moved to Lindsay, OK.
