John Joyce is indicated as desiring a parcel of land in August of 1738; his emigration had to be then or earlier. Numerous secondary sources say that he was at Lynn in 1637, but no record evidence appears.

Mr. McLean estimated his birth ca. 1615, but he apparently did not have access to Dorothy Cotchet's baptismal date from the Mickleover, Derbyshire parish register. This might also indicate slightly earlier birthdates for Dorcas, Hosea and Mary (Abigail's baptism having been recorded at Yarmouth).
