Overview

John Johnson migrated to Caswell County, North Carolina from what is now Newville, Pennsylvania[1] in the 1760's along with a number of associated families. Two of his daughters, Isabella and Rachel, married two Walker brothers from Newville. Rachel moved with her husband James Walker to Caswell County with her father. Rachel however lived the rest of her life back in Pennsylvania. John left a will listing his children in North Carolina[2]:

Daniel Johnson
Isabel, wife to James Walker
William Johnson
Jane, wife to James Christy
James Johnson
Rachel, wife to Joseph Walker
Wife Mary

Family descendants also claim an additional son, Alexander Johnson[3]. An Alexander Johnson did in fact exist in related land records and did appear to migrate with the other children, but it is uncertain why he is not on the will.
