Facts and Events
John Johnson served as a Confederate soldier in the Civil War. He was captured by Union forces and held as a prisoner of war. When the war ended he didn't return home, and was heard from him again. Years later, a nephew was traveling in the Ozarks when he came to a gas station operated by Johnsons. In conversation with the owners he discovered they were the grandsons of John Johnson from Beech Bluff, Madison County, Tennessee. I first heard this story from Don Brown and am not sure as to whom the nephew was. |
