OBITUARY FROM BURLINGTON TIMES-NEWS: J. Talmadge Isley BURLINGTON — Mr. J. Talmadge Isley,87, of 3319 Isley Drive, Snow Camp, died Saturday morning March 9, 2002 at his residence. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs.. Nina Sharpe Isley, and the son of the late John Moody Isley and Caroline Garrett Isley. He was retired from AT&T and a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Miss Betty Joyce Isley of Richmond, Va.; three sons, Mr. Larry M. Isley of Snow Camp, Mr. Ronald C. Isley of Burlington and Mr. Joe M. Isley of Snow Camp; a sister, Mrs.. Alta Hargrove of Snow Camp; two brothers, Mr. B. Moody Isley of Liberty, and Mr. C. Worth Isley of Snow Camp; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Ricky Daryl Isley; and two brothers, Mr. J. Dean Isley and Mr. H. Wake Isley. The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening. The casket will be placed in the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
